Published on March 29, 2017 6:20PM

The Oregon State Elks Association, in conjunction with the Oregon Podiatric Medical Association, are collecting socks to distribute to veterans and their families.

Dr. Chris Seuferling, OPMA president, said socks are one of the most requested items from veterans. Donations being accepted are new men’s, women’s and children’s socks.

Local Elks lodges and podiatrist’s offices will accept both shoes and socks during the drive, which runs through Friday, April 21. The donations will be distributed at the end of April to veterans’ clinics, hospitals and homes throughout Oregon.

For more information, stop by the office of doctors Daniel Byrd and Terrol Marshall at 714 S.W. Dorion Ave., Pendleton, or call 541-276-2372.
