Grande Ronde symphony opens 70th season

LA GRANDE — Music from Aaron Copland with his “Fanfare for the Common Man and Camille Saint-Saëns’ “Danse Macabre” are featured in the season opening concert of the Grande Ronde Symphony Association.

In its 70th season, the concert’s theme of “Finding Our Why” also pulls together music from Austria’s New Year’s tradition of “Radetsky March” by Johann Strauss and the popular, multi-movement “Nutcracker Suite” by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The program is Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in McKenzie Theater at Eastern Oregon University, La Grande.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for seniors, college students are $2 and students in eighth through 12th grade are $1. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at www.granderondesymphony.org. For more information, contact 541-963-7595 or grsymphony2@gmail.com.
