LETTER: Christmas spirit returning to Pendleton

Published on December 18, 2017 4:07PM

Congratulations for the Christmas spirit, which seems to have been revived to our Pendleton community.

The recent Christmas tree lighting was a wonderful addition to the Christmas Stroll. It was a warm and friendly feeling to see so many of our neighbors and friends out enjoying the afternoon and early evening. Thank you to the businesses who chose to remain open for shopping and visiting.

So often we get into a fast-paced life, and it was just pleasant to take a break and enjoy a leisurely afternoon. It was heartwarming to see so many people come together with the addition of the Christmas tree decorating and lighting. I am looking forward to the possibility of the return of the Christmas Parade, especially if it would be in the evening and be lighted like the Round-Up parade was so long ago. There is something magical to me about a nighttime lighted parade!

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year Pendleton!
