Blue Mountain Community College is one of 14 community colleges and universities in Oregon to receive a grant for student veteran services.

The Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs gave a total of $1 million in grants this week, aimed at expanding campus veteran resources on community college and public university campuses around the state. Grants ranged from $32,500 to $100,000. Projects that will receive funding include the development of veteran-specific campus orientation and welcome programs for student veterans and their families, training staff and faculty in addressing specific student veteran needs, and “Hiring Veterans” events that help student veterans access employment resources and transition from school to a job. Funds must be used between January 2018 and June 2019.
