PENDLETON — The Pendleton baseball team started its league schedule on Saturday in a big way, sweeping The Dalles in a doubleheader with 7-6 and 13-7 victories.

Junior Nick Bower played a big part in those wins for the Buckaroos. He smacked a team-best five hits between the two games with a double and a triple, tallied four RBIs and also scored the game-winning run in Game 1 off of a walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh inning.

For his efforts, Bower is the East Oregonian Athlete of the Week for the week of Apr. 10-15.
