Shoni Schimmel has a new home in the WNBA.

The Las Vegas Aces announced the signing on Tuesday on its Twitter account, just two days after Schimmel was waived by the New York Liberty. Las Vegas becomes Schimmel’s third team in her four-year WNBA career, joining the Atlanta Dream and New York Liberty.

Schimmel, 26, had just returned to the Liberty for training camp in late April after sitting out the 2017 season. She saw limited action in New York’s two preseason games. She played 24 minutes of the first game, a 75-69 loss to Dallas, where she scored three points on 1-of-5 shooting with two rebounds, three turnovers and three fouls. And in the second preseason game against Los Angeles, Schimmel played only 7 minutes and was held scoreless on 0-for-1 shooting with two turnovers.

Over her career spanning 83 total games, Schimmel has averaged 6.7 points, 2.8 assists and 2.0 rebounds per game and is a 37 percent shooter from 3-point range.

The 2018 season is the inaugural one for the Aces, a franchise that relocated from San Antonio prior to the season. The Aces are coached by Bill Laimbeer, who also coached Schimmel for her one season in New York.
