After winning their first two games of the season, the Tri-City Americans have dropped their past two games at home.
Elijah Brown scored in the first period, and Hayden Ostir added a goal in the third period as the Medicine Hat Tigers shut out the Americans 2-0 on Saturday night.
The Tigers, who have won two in a row, outshot the Americans 32-26.
Tri-City (2-2-0-0) got 30 saves from Beck Warm.
Friday, the Americans traded two bantam draft drafts picks to the Calgary Hitmen for defenseman Dominic Schmiemann.
“With the long-term injury to Anthony Bishop, we felt it was necessary to add a veteran defenseman,” Tri-City general manager Bob Tory said in a news release.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Schmiemann is expected to be in the lineup when the Americans host the Edmonton Oil Kings on Tuesday night.
