Pamela Jane Holdman was born in Pendleton, the first of Nora Lee and Ben’s four children. She graduated from Griswold High in Helix, Oregon, in 1974, and earned a B.S. at Oregon State University in 1958. Pam was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and remained active in the organization throughout her life.
Her working career spanned a number of years in the office products industry in the Portland area. She later moved into the insurance business where she invested 20 years as an adjuster for Safeco, and more recently 10 years as an independent insurance adjuster in Portland.
She was a fabulous cook and “ruled the roost” from her beautiful kitchen, which was the heart of the Cavagnaro home and which she designed herself. No one ever left the table still hungry.
Pam was very active in both Lincoln youth and Lincoln High School football, as well as wrestling, for son Ben. Similarly, she was an integral part of Lincoln’s competitive dance team, for which she managed the bookkeeping and fund raising. Pam was also there for all of daughter Ali’s many competitions.
Pam is survived by her husband, Dan: her children, Ben and Ali; her parents, Nora Lee and Ben; her siblings, sisters Robyn and Vicki and brother Chris; her in-laws, Connie, Jim, and Lynne; as well as countless nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass for Pam will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Pendleton on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., thus ending her brave two-year battle with colon cancer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be dedicated to the Oregon Humane Society or to a charity of choice.
