Douglas Paul Marquardt, 58, of Pendleton, Oregon, went to be with the Lord Nov. 10, 2017, surrounded by loving family.
He was born July 29, 1959, in Heppner, Oregon, to Bill and Rena (Messenger) Marquardt. Doug graduated from Heppner High School in 1978, and was a talented pianist, playing both for church services and for fun. He also enjoyed reading, maintaining his extensive personal library, and gardening.
He worked in many different professions over the years, including the family ranch in Lexington, finally ending up at the East Oregonian newspaper working with inserts.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Bill, and sisters Norita and Penny Marquardt.
Surviving family members include his mother, Rena (Messenger) Marquardt of Lexington; siblings Rick (Charity) Marquardt of Spokane, Wash., Bruce (Delia) Marquardt of San Diego, Calif., Billee June (Ira) Owen of Lexington, Ore., Charma Marquardt of Pendleton, Ore., and Phil (Beth) Marquardt of Pendleton, Ore.; sons Marcus (Rylia) Marquardt of Buena Park, Calif., and Lucas (Erin) Marquardt; grandsons Josiah and Elijah of Bellflower, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
