Ronald Jean Price, 69, of Pendleton passed away on December 29, 2017, in Pendleton. Ron was born on June 30, 1948, the second of six children to James and Lucille (Bailey) Price in Gastonia, North Carolina.
Ron honorably served in the United States Army, including a tour in Vietnam. Before moving to the West Coast he welcomed five children in North Carolina. He was known to keep the kids up all night; playing softball or pulling late bike rides around an island. In 1985 he moved to Irrigon and eventually settled in Pendleton. Before suffering a shoulder and knee injury he was an avid bowler and fisherman. He had a lifelong passion for driving — didn’t matter how many miles, he was always up for a long drive. You could always be sure to see him completing a Word Find if there was a moment of down time.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and grandson Grayson Schaaf.
He is survived by his longtime girlfriend Patricia Bohmes; siblings Jim Price, Pat Walters, Linda Gamblin, Elaine Gildred and Carolyn Lyle; children Lucille Barnes, Elaine Redmond, Wendy Dill, Andy Price and Janie Schaaf, 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
