Laura Belle Lewis, resident of Weston, Oregon, died Friday, August 31, 2018, at a Portland hospital.
She was born April 2, 1963, to Robert McBean Sr. and Margaret (Fitzpatrick) McBean in Walla Walla, Washington. She was raised in Gibbon, Oregon, with her brothers and sisters. She attended Weston-McEwen High School.
She married Roy Lewis Jr. January 12, 1985, and had three children, Stephanie Williams (James), Cheryl Lewis, and Nathaniel Lewis, all of Weston, Oregon.
She worked as a cook and at harvest, and was a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, bead work, helping people, and her garden.
Her greatest joy was her five grandchildren who knew her as “Nana,” Ciara, Cody, Georgia, Jennifer and Cameron.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters Mary Garica (Javier) of Tollgate, Oregon, Bobby McBean (Jane) of Nampa, Idaho, Bill McBean (Julie) of Plymoth, Washington, Joseph McBean III (Cary) of Gibbon, Oregon, Mervin McBean (Dot) of Gibbon, Oregon, Rosa Hays (Chris) of Pilot Rock, Oregon, and Marilyn Sparks of Athena, Oregon, and her aunts Sue Fitzpatrick, Rose Wiseman and Irene Fitzpatrick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lewis Jr., and her parents Robert McBean and Margaret McBean.
Services will be held Monday, September 10, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Burns Mortuary, Pendleton, Oregon, followed by graveside service at Athena Cemetery, Athena, Oregon.
