2:03 a.m. - A 911 caller reported a small sawdust fire at Upper Columbia Mill, 77200 Pole Line Road, Boardman.
7:38 a.m. - A Morrow County sheriff’s deputy responded to Bunker Hill Lane and Highway 74, Heppner, on a report of a person in the grass next to the road. The deputy gave the person a ride to Stanfield.
11:24 a.m. - An Irrigon resident at Washington Avenue and West Seventh Street drove into the mailbox and garbage can of a neighbor, according to a caller. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office took a report of the hit and run.
11:28 a.m. - A resident on Cherry Street, Umatilla, told police “Johnny” came into his house and would not leave.
4:01 p.m. - An engine fire destroyed a Hyundai Sonata, but its occupants escaped unharmed.
Oregon State Police reported the driver, 32, and her two passengers, one 21 and the other 14, were heading east on Interstate 84’s Cabbage Hill when the car’s check engine light came on. The driver pulled over near milepost 220, and moments later smoke and flames came from under the engine.
The trio got out of the car, which the fire fully engulfed.
11:33 p.m. - The owner of a shop on North Loop Road, Stanfield, called 911 and said one or more intruders were in his shop.
11:40 p.m. - A Hermiston caller told police to remove his mother’s boyfriend because he was beating her. The suspect was gone before police arrived.
•Levi George Herman, 36, of Pendleton, is back in jail for first-degree burglary and first-degree theft. According to Umatilla County Circuit Court documents, Pendleton police arrested Herman for unlawfully entering a home at 527 S.W. 20th St. and stealing silver bullion coins, silver dollars and pants worth at least $1,000. The state accused Herman of committing the crimes between Sept. 15-29.
Pendleton police arrested Herman last week in another burglary case, which is pending in circuit court.
•Hermiston police arrested Jordan Delano Crandall, 26, of Hermiston, for possession of methamphetamine and on multiple warrants.
