Oregon State Police recovered a stolen vehicle, and police warned a man for distracted driving after a crash

WEDNESDAY


1:13 a.m. - Law enforcement in Morrow County received a report of a wrong-way driver on the westbound side of Interstate 84 near milepost 150.

7:09 a.m. - Emergency services in Hermiston responded to a report of a man not moving and on the asphalt of the parking lot at the Golden Palace Restaurant, 175 S. Highway 395. Police found he was asleep.

7:33 a.m. - A caller in Milton-Freewater reported the theft of a snowboard from her vehicle on the 100 block of northeast 11th Avenue.

11:39 a.m. - Hermiston police took a report of a burglary on the 900 block of East Newport Avenue.

4:05 p.m. - Oregon State Police found a stolen Toyota Rav4 in a dead-end gravel turnout at Southeast Nye Avenue and Third Drive, Pendleton. State police also identified a person they want to talk to about the case.

4:34 p.m. - A 911 caller reported a male assaulted a female at the Athena Fire Hall, 230 Second St., Athena.

4:45 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office took a report for the theft of a dark gray 2002 Ford F150 pickup from an area on West Orchard Avenue, Hermiston.

6 p.m. - An Irrigon resident on Southeast Utah Avenue reported the theft of the stereo system from her vehicle.

6:17 p.m. - An Irrigon mother reported her son took her car at 11:30 a.m., and he is not supposed to drive.

9:34 p.m. - Multiple emergency agencies responded to a vehicle crash on Wilson Lane, Boardman. The driver reported back pain. Police gave him a warning for distracted driving.


ARRESTS, CITATIONS


•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Lorence Leon Pfaffle, 55, of Milton-Freewater, for nine counts of misuse of 911 and eight counts of telephonic harassment, all misdemeanors.
