Night crawlers were out, and not the kind for fishing, and it might be clobberin’ time after some villain stole a collection of comic books

2:56 a.m. - Hermiston police responded to East Gladys Avenue to look for a possible prowler.

5:49 a.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a prowler in Irrigon. The suspect may have been in a garage, but took off over a fence before the deputy arrived.

7:30 a.m. - Milton-Freewater police took a report of graffiti on the 200 block of East Broadway Avenue. The department took a second report of graffiti at 5:42 p.m. at a different location on the same street.

7:32 a.m. - Pendleton police took a report for a vehicle theft on Northwest 11th Street.

10:35 a.m. - A caller on Southwest Eighth Street, Pendleton, reported the theft of a hope chest from his residence sometime within the last two weeks.

10:58 a.m. - A Hermiston resident on North Ott Road reported a burglary.

11:48 a.m. - Staff reported a fight at Irrigon Junior-Senior High School, Irrigon.

1:49 p.m. - Four people, maybe more, are living in a shed on Hemlock Court, Umatilla, a caller reported, which would violate city code.

3:47 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a burglary at Columbia River Auction, 80571 Highway 395, Hermiston.

3:54 p.m. - Not cool, not at all. An Ione man on South Birch Street reported the theft of his comic book collection. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case.

4:15 p.m. - A Boardman resident on Second Street Northeast reported two males came to her house, showed her a gun and said they would hurt her. Police contacted the two and found they had no gun. Officers trespassed the pair from the residence.

6:46 p.m. - Three females were involved in domestic violence on East Main Street, Athena.

8:15 p.m. - Umatilla police responded to a 911 report of a domestic disturbance at Country Club Manor, 605 Umatilla Ave.

8:31 p.m. - Street lights — not traffic lights — were blinking along East Main Street, Hermiston.

9:39 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of three girls sending harassing text messages to a boy in Irrigon. A deputy spoke with the victim, who then blocked the girls from contacting him on the phone.

10:35 p.m. - Pendleton police received a 911 call from a 50-year-old man who reported his father hit him.



•Pendleton police arrested Jay L. Kimball, 25, of Dayville, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
