Intoxicated drivers were out in force this weekend, but so were police

FRIDAY


11:47 a.m. - The driver of a Ford Ranger suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Hermiston.

Oregon State Police reported Erin Marie Anderson, 36, of Heppner, was driving a Chevrolet Suburban with a trailer and tried to turn north from Minnehaha Road into Highway 207. While making the turn, a red Ford Ranger collided with the trailer. Police cited Anderson for failure to obey a traffic control device. Craig Evert Engbretson, 62, of Paterson, Washington, drove the Ford and suffered minor injuries. An ambulance took him to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston. State police gave him a warning for not wearing a seatbelt.

3:45 p.m. - Hermiston police received a report of child neglect.

4:20 p.m. - Two males spray-painted a sign in the area of Northeast 11th Avenue and North Elizabeth Street, Milton-Freewater.

4:54 p.m. - A Hermiston caller asked to speak to an officer about a phone and computer scam she received.

6:18 p.m. - Emergency services responded to a tractor on fire on Big Butter Creek Lane, Echo, and put out the fire.

11:23 p.m. - Pendleton police received a 911 call about an assault at a residence on Southwest Emigrant Avenue.


SATURDAY


12:46 a.m. - Pendleton police responded to Mosa, 140 S. Main St., Pendleton, for a disturbance. Police would receive additional reports of disturbances at the bar at 1:47 a.m., 2:32 a.m. and 4:08 a.m.

7:13 a.m. - Pendleton police received a report of child abuse or neglect.

10:41 a.m. - Ducks trying to cross West Hermiston Avenue, Hermiston, prompted a caller to tell police a car could run over the fowl.

10:48 a.m. - A man told Umatilla police he was at a house with the number 132 in McNary but did not know the street and a man came in 30 minutes ago, wanted to fight him and stole his phone, driver’s license, other identification and bank card.

11:43 a.m. - An Irrigon caller on Northeast Oregon Avenue reported the theft of a pressure washer.

6:42 p.m. - Hermiston police took a report for child abuse or neglect.

8:01 p.m. - Milton-Freewater police responded to the 100 block of Northwest 11th Avenue after a vehicle stuck a juvenile. The driver took off, and the victim declined medical treatment at a hospital.

11:40 p.m. - Two juveniles threw eggs at a home on the 1000 block of Northeast Fourth Avenue, Milton-Freewater.

11:56 p.m. - Umatilla County law enforcement received a report of a burglary in progress on Balboa Lane, Hermiston.


SUNDAY


2:29 p.m. - Pendleton police took a report for child neglect.

5:51 p.m. - A caller in Pendleton reported a drunk driver at Bi-Mart, 901 S.W. Emigrant Ave., but police did not find the driver.

That was the same situation when Pendleton police received a call at 11:21 p.m. about two possibly intoxicated people parked at Three R’s School, 920 S.W. Frazer Ave.

While the officers did not find these drivers, Pendleton police cited and arrested several intoxicated drivers during the weekend. You can find out more about those below.

11:19 p.m. - Hermiston police responded to an assault on the 600 block of Southeast Sixth Street.


ARRESTS, CITATIONS


Friday

•Pendleton police cited Tami L. Weitz, 59, of Pendleton, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

•Pilot Rock police arrested Patrick Paul Sims, 34, of Pendleton, for domestic violence misdemeanors of strangulation and fourth-degree assault

•Pendleton police arrested Bryon A. Adels, 26, of Milton-Freewater, for DUII.

Saturday

•Pendleton police cited Thomas A. Murphy, 34, of Pilot Rock, for DUII.

•Hermiston police arrested Jesus Salvador Solorio Vidales, 34, of Hermiston, on multiple warrants and for identity theft and possession of a forged instrument.

•Pendleton police arrested Christopher Matthew Rhoades, 31, of Pendleton, for DUII.

Sunday

•Boardman police arrested Jorge Luis Alcala Sanchez, 32, of Boardman, for unauthorized use of a vehicle.

•Staff at Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston at 7:18 p.m. told the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office a patient was in the emergency department after her boyfriend beat her a few days ago in Irrigon.

The report led to the arrest of Helmer Jimenez Zamudio, 28, of Kennewick, for second-degree kidnapping, interfering with making a call to 911, and domestic violence charges of assault, harassment and strangulation.

•Pendleton police arrested Chyanne Bivin, 58, Pendleton, for DUII.
