Pendleton High School senior MaKenzie Noggle was awarded a Renaissance Foundation scholarship for $10,000 at an awards banquet Nov. 14, 2017, in Portland. Noggle was recognized with six other winners from across the state of Oregon.

The daughter of Amie Parker, MaKenzie is currently applying to Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts and Oregon State University, and plans to study robotic engineering. She is a member of the PHS robotics team and traveled with them to the FIRST Robotics Championships in Houston, Texas, in April 2017.

The Renaissance Foundation established its first scholarship in 2001. Since then, a number of scholarship opportunities have been developed with Oregon schools, focused on first generation college students who are passionate about their field of study and have a high potential to succeed.
