Hospital volunteers fund scholarships

PENDLETON — Each year, CHI St. Anthony Hospital volunteers donate their time to raise money for education scholarships for students pursuing health-related career goals.

Eleven local students were recipients for the 2018 awards of $1,000 each:

Clancy Deutz, Gonzaga University, studying to become a nurse; Caiden Marks, Pacific University, studying to become an orthopedic surgeon; Kevin Murray, Oregon State University, studying to become a pharmacist; Nicholas Bower, Pendleton High School, studying to become a physical therapist; Sara Weinke, Pilot Rock High School, is studying to become a nurse; Angel Villalobos, Concordia University, studying to become an occupational therapist; Anna Marin Kennedy, Oregon State University, studying biology to enter pre-med; Maureen Davies, Pendleton High School, physical therapist; Karen Buerge, Walla Walla Community College, studying to become a medical assistant; Jodi Primus, Blue Mountain Community College, studying to become a nurse; Jessica Kempken, Oregon State University, studying to become a pharmacist.
