Two from UCSO to graduate from safety academy

Derek Hoisington and Jonathan Picard, both of the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, will participate in an upcoming graduation from the Oregon Public Safety Academy.

The pair are part of the Basic Corrections Local #BCL029 class of the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training. The ceremony, which is open to the public, is Friday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. at the academy, 4190 Aumsville Highway S.E., Salem.

Commander Sheila Lorance of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office is the guest speaker. A reception will follow.

The Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training provides training to more than 25,000 students each year throughout Oregon and at the academy in Salem. For more information, visit www.oregon.gov/dpsst.
