Santa Claus and a quartet from Pendleton High School, including Kristen Gregg, Tyler Simpson, Ithea Engum and Jenna Harrison, were among the special guests during a holiday celebration at McKay Creek Estates.
Executive director Noemi Wiseman said the young musicians were applauded for their performance. And St. Nick was well-received as he handed out Christmas presents.
The Pendleton assisted living facility celebrated several individuals during the Dec. 5 holiday dinner, including designating Jerry Schubert as the 2017 Santa Claus and Edith Johnson as the 2017 Mrs. Claus. A chorus of “Happy Birthday” filled the air for the November and December birthdays of Martha Warberg (Nov. 14), Brenda Hascall (Nov. 21), Bill Storie (Nov. 26), Barbara Davis (Nov. 28), Don Peck (Dec. 3), Jerry Schubert (Dec. 9), Rosemary Gustavson (Dec. 13), and Jean Thomson and Ethel Bagwell (both Dec. 16). In addition, staff of the month were honored, including Jennifer Stiteler (November) and Malia Lieuallen (December). Thelma Linder was recognized as the facility’s November resident of the month.
Wiseman acknowledged the McKay Creek team during the dinner, thanking them for their commitment and compassion in serving the residents. She also introduced Sheila Beesley-Smith, regional director of nursing, and Jessica Raphael, executive director of Elizabethan Manor, who were in attendance at the dinner.
Many activities at the facility are open to the public. For more information, contact Wiseman at 541-276-1987 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
