Children’s Rodeo wrangles in donation

Published on February 10, 2018 12:01AM

The Let ‘er Buck Room recently served as pickup man for the Children’s Rodeo — providing a donation from tips received during the 2017 Pendleton Round-Up.

Director Mike Ledbetter and his wife, Jill, presented a check for $2,668 to representatives of InterMountain Education Service District who help in coordinating rodeo activities for special needs students. The money, which was presented Feb. 2, came from tips Ledbetter and bar volunteers received each day during Round-Up — except Thursday, which go to a different nonprofit organization.

“Our volunteers are happy to donate all their tips to a great cause,” Ledbetter said.

Representatives of the Children’s Rodeo are appreciative of Ledbetter and his volunteers for their continued support. Founded in 1984, the event takes place during Thursday of Round-Up week and features participants from school districts in Umatilla, Morrow and Union counties.
