Put on dancing shoes for BMCC classes

PENDLETON - Three four-week classes in dance are being offered beginning Wednesday through Blue Mountain Community College at Sunridge Middle School.

Linedancing will be taught from 5:45-6:45 p.m. Country-western swing and the two-step will be taught from 7-8 p.m. Wednesdays. Couples' 10-step and pattern dance will be taught from 8:15-9:15 p.m.

The classes meet every Wednesday through Aug. 22, and the cost is $20 per person per series. For more information or to inquire about private lessons for groups and individuals, call April at 566-0431.

Lutheran preschool still has openings

HERMISTON - Bethlehem Lutheran Preschool still has openings in its 3-year-old afternoon classes for the coming school year. Children must be 3 by Sept. 1 and must be potty trained.

To register, call 567-7829 between 8 a.m. and noon, Monday through Friday; or stop by the preschool at 515 S.W. Seventh St.

Free eye exams offered in Pendleton

PENDLETON - A few appointments are still available on Aug. 17 for Children's Day at Vision Source Pendleton, 1815 S.W. Emigrant Ave. Every year, the business offers free vision screenings for children in grades kindergarten through sixth.

Disabled support group meets

PENDLETON - A support group for people with disabilities, their families and caregivers will meet from 6-8 p.m. in the Cascade Room of St. Anthony Hospital.

The chief executive officer of the Eastern Oregon Center for Independent Living will give a presentation on all the resources available for people living with disabilities.
