Blitz of bazaars on way as holidays near

As the holiday season approaches, a number of organizations are planning bazaars. The venues range from senior centers to church fellowship halls and fraternal organizations. In addition, several super-sized bazaars take place at the TRAC Center, Spokane Convention Center and Pendleton Convention Center.

FRIDAY, NOV. 5 —SUNDAY, NOV. 7

Custer’s Christmas Arts & Crafts Show, Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., TRAC Center, off Interstate 182, Exit No. 9, Pasco, Wash.

Cost is $6 for adults, which is good for all weekend. Children 12 and under admitted free. More than 150 professional artists and crafters, including artwork, jewelry, pottery, metal art, photography, candles, clothing, seasonal decor and gourmet foods.

FRIDAY, NOV. 5

Holiday Craft Sale, 5-7 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 201 S.W. Dorion Ave., Pendleton.

A large variety of fair trade crafts for purchase, including coffee and chocolate. Proceeds support mission and church projects. Call 541-276-7681 for more information.

SATURDAY, NOV. 6

Columbia Grange Pre-Holiday Bazaar, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Columbia Grange Hall, 32300 Diagonal Blvd., Hermiston.

2010 Inland Crafts, Friday, noon to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Spokane Convention Center, 334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd., Spokane, Wash.

Admission is $5, which is good for all weekend. Event includes fine contemporary crafts from 55 artisans from six western states and British Columbia. Art demonstrations and mini-workshops hourly; $150 gift certificates awarded daily; and Inland Crafts signature shopping bags free each day from 2 p.m. to close. SATURDAY, NOV. 13

Hermiston Emblem Club No. 215 Holiday Bazaar and Bake Sale, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Hermiston Elks Lodge, 480 E. Main St.

Hermiston Eagles Auxiliary No. 2909 Christmas Bazaar, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Hermiston Eagles Lodge, 160 N.W. Second St., Hermiston.

Altrusa Holiday Bazaar, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Pendleton Convention Center, 1601 Westgate.

Serves as the primary fundraiser for Altrusa International of Pendleton. Admission charge is $1. Event expects about 90 vendors. In addition, raffle tickets are available for $5 each at Banner Bank or from any Altrusan, which includes a chance for a $3,000 shopping spree at Wilcox Furniture, a Wildhorse getaway and a number of gift baskets.

SATURDAY, DEC. 4

Christmas Bazaar, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Hawthorne School, 1308 S.W. Emigrant Ave., Pendleton. Santa will stop by from 1-4 p.m. Coffee, cocoa and apple cider will be available for purchase. St. Mary’s Christmas Bazaar, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 800 S.E. Court Ave., Pendleton.

Brunch, lunch, desserts and vendors selling homemade crafts. Drawings for raffles, including a quilt, will be held throughout the day. Admission is $1 per person; all proceeds support the community’s needy.
