BMCC president to speak on Monday
PENDLETON - Travis Kirkland, president of Blue Mountain Community College, will be the featured speaker at the 11 a.m. Veterans Day Service at Skyview Memorial Park.
Flags will be placed honoring the veterans buried there including two prisoners of war, and one serviceman who was killed in action.
Tommy Ruth Temple, Stephen Pyle and Sonny Rider will provide music for the occasion. Paul Gadaire will welcome the public and provide closing remarks. Irving Jordan, Ted Cumberson and Mark Jaeger will post and retrieve the colors and the Rev. Clinton Powell will give the invocation and benediction.
PENDLETON - Saturday Arts Academy classes are accepting students.
Kids 8 to 13 can register today for tin punch. Instructor John Moreno will teach the classic art. Kids will leave the class with their own lantern. Class will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Arts Center. Tuition is $15 for Arts Council members and $20 for non-members.

Installation of newly-elected officers for the Pomona Grange is planned for 3 p.m. Sunday at the Cold Springs Grange Hall.
The ceremony will be followed by a pot luck supper.
