MISSION - One of the 50 most beautiful people in the world is coming to Wildhorse Resort & Casino.
At least that's the way People magazine judged Matt Cedeno in 2002. Cedeno, who plays Brandon Walker on the soap opera "Days of Our Lives."
Cedeno, born in Moses Lake and raised in eastern Washington, will appear at the casino from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 8 to meet the public. Admission is free.
Cedeno, 28, of Cuban, Irish and English descent, taught himself Spanish. He hosted the 2001 Miss All American Latina Pageant, a national pageant for college women of Hispanic descent, covering it in both Spanish and English. He also completed an entire interview with CNN Espanol in Spanish.
Cedeno grew up competing in athletics. Until his knee went out, he harbored ambitions of playing professional football. He continues to participate in skiing, baseball, soccer and boxing. In fact, he played a young boxer in the movie, "Price of Glory." He appeared in another movie, "The Suburbans," with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ben Stiller.
In his fourth year with "Days of Our Lives," Cedeno has received nominations as the Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama for an ALMA Award three years in a row, the only actor from an NBC daytime drama to receive the nomination every year. He moved into acting from modeling, which he began while in college. He later juggled academics and his modeling career in Milan, Italy, Spain, New York and Los Angeles.
