THE JOURNEYMEN QUARTET IN CONCERT, 7 p.m. at Pendleton Baptist Church, 4450 S.W. Quinney Ave. No admission charge to hear this Southern gospel quartet.

WEDNESDAY

LAST DAY OF GET A CLUE! STANFIELD PUBLIC LIBRARY SUMMER READING PROGRAM, 1-2 p.m., at the library, 180 W. Coe Ave. For children ages 3-13. Call 449-1254 for more information.

Thursday

ANIMAL HOUR, 11 a.m. at Children's Museum of Eastern Oregon, 400 S. Main St., Pendleton. Spend time with and learn about different animals. No cost except $3 museum admission, free to members.

SOCIETY'S CHILD MOTOWN AND R&B, 7-11 p.m. at Wildfire Cabaret, Wildhorse Resort and Casino, Mission. No cover charge.

Friday

PENDLETON FARMERS MARKET, 4-8 p.m. in the 400 block of Main Street. A wide variety of locally grown produce, baked goods, prepared foods, crafts and music.

SOCIETY'S CHILD MOTOWN AND R&B, 8 p.m. to midnight at Wildfire Cabaret, Wildhorse Resort and Casino, Mission. No cover charge.

SATURDAY

HERMISTON FARMERS MARKET, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot at the Hermiston Conference Center, 415 S. Highway 395. The event includes fruit, vegetables, entertainment and arts and crafts booths.

IRRIGON WATERMELON FESTIVAL, 6:30-9 a.m. breakfast; 7 a.m. softball tournament, 10 a.m. parade. Also dancers, arts and crafts, bingo, a duck race, boat rides, a car show and other activities at the Irrigon Park and Marina. A street dance and light show by Dan Burns and 3D Productions is scheduled for 9 p.m.-midnight.

BOARDMAN DESERT RATS CAR SHOW, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Boardman City Park, located between Northwest Boardman Avenue and Park Avenue. Awards will be given for people's choice, project vehicle, custom, classic, hot rod and contemporary. The event also includes entertainment and food. Monday

THURSDAY, AUG. 2

JENNIFER LYNN SINGS COUNTRY, 7-11 p.m. at Wildfire Cabaret, Wildhorse Resort, Mission. No cover charge. Singer/songwriter is from Portland and graduated from Washington State University. She's opened for several top country acts.
