As a newspaper publisher, poet and author, HollyJo Harer has turned her energy, curiosity, and a knack for writing into a multifaceted career in print. Harer made herself known in 1984, when she published a newspaper called the Camas Prairie Times in Ukiah. She has several poems in print, including “Water Wings,” which this summer won for her the Silver Poet award from the World of Poetry Press. Harer lives in Pilot Rock now, and her latest work has produced the book “Camas Prairie Country: A History of Ukiah-Albee,” which she says will be available early in December.
