Shannon Marie Elliott and Jason Robert Newport were married Aug. 3, 2002, at First Christian Church in Eugene.

The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Dan Bryant.

The bride wore a diamond white satin gown with crystals, beads and sequins intricately sewn on the bodice and apron-style train. The A-line tank-top gown had a natural waist with pearl buttons on the back. She wore her mother's veil with a silver tiara. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of roses in shades of yellow, peach, coral, pink, lavender and champagne wrapped with a white satin ribbon.

The maid of honor was Kristen Elliott of Buena Vista, Colo. Bridesmaids were Betty Ann Boering of Palo Alto, Calif., Julie Rickman-McCall of Glendale, Ariz., and Jenna Jenkins of Corbett.

The best man was Jonathan Newport of Portland. Groomsmen were Jeff Newport of Lebanon, Jim Newport of Roundrock, Texas, and Justin Elliott of Bozeman, Mont.

Candlelighters were Robin Toomey of Beaverton and Stephanie Kustura of Clackamas. Flower girl was Rachel Newport of Lebanon. Ring bearer was Jordan Newport of Lebanon. Ushers included Todd Harding, Steven Stavros and Jamin VanMeter of Eugene and Riley Savage of Sherwood.

Following a wedding reception at the Downtown Athletic Club in Eugene, the couple took a wedding trip to Jamaica.

The bride, the daughter of Gayle Rosenberg and Tom Elliott, both of Pendleton, is a 1993 graduate of Pendleton High School and a 1997 graduate of the University of Oregon. She is employed with Intel in Hillsboro.

Newport, the son of Lummie and Janice Newport of Eugene, is a 1994 graduate of Willamette High School and a 1998 graduate of the University of Oregon. He is employed by Nike in Beaverton. The couple resides in Hillsboro.
