Billed as an extravaganza, the Ione American Legion and Auxiliary Post No. 95 will host its annual Texas Hold ‘em, Bingo and Bake Sale Fundraiser.

The all ages event is Saturday, with doors opening at 5 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, Second Street, Ione.

Bingo play, which includes cash prizes, begins at 5:30 p.m. The cost is 25 cents per card. Buy-in for the poker tournament is $40 and registration is at 6 p.m. Don’t be late, as there won’t be any late buy-ins. Cards will be dealt at 6:30 p.m. The last four standing will win money.

Baked goods, made locally, sell fast — so organizers encourage people to make their selections early. In addition, a sandwich and salad bar will offer a variety of fixin’s to build your own salad or sandwich. A no-host bar manned by Taylors and Back 2 Beechers will create thirst-quenching concoctions.

Raffle tickets, which cost $1 each or six for $5, will be sold for a Super Comanche single-shot handgun. Donated by John Jepsen, it shoots either .45 caliber or .410 gauge shells. It’s brand new, but has been test fired. In addition, a pair of people will win a cut and wrapped half a beef.

Tickets for the raffle will be sold at the door or can be purchased in advanced from Ione American Legion and Auxiliary members.
