HERMISTON - Because people care, no one need be alone or lonely this Christmas Day.

The Hermiston Community Fellowship dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hermiston Senior Center, at the fairgrounds, 435 W. Orchard.

Volunteers are still needed for set-up, delivery, baking pies, telephoning cleaning up and more. Organizations wanting to help can call 567-8600. Individuals wanting to help can call 922-4427. Calls will be accepted until Sunday. After that volunteers can sign-up from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday at the Senior Center.

The dinners are free and a donation box is provided at the request of attendees. Donated items for the dinner can be left at the Senior Center from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday. Donations of money will go to purchase paper products, rental of the Senior Center and other necessities. To make a monetary donation, make checks payable to Community Fellowship Dinners, mail to P. O. Box 1727, Hermiston, OR 97838, or leave it at the First Christian Church, 775 W. Highland.

This year's menu includes baked ham and raisin sauce, limited turkey with dressing and cranberries, baked potatoes, carrots, fruit salad, pies, rolls, and beverage.

The dinners began in 1988. They are sponsored by the Community Fellowship Dinner with the help of churches, businesses, community members and organizations.
