Pfc. Armstrong

Pfc. Trever D. Armstrong graduated from Marine Boot Camp at Marine Cor[s Recruit Depot in San Diego, Calif., on Sept. 12, 2008.

At graduation Armstrong was awarded the "Company Honor Man," finishing first in his class of 599. This is the highest award that can be received at boot camp. It is given to the Marine in the company who demonstrates the highest degree of discipline, proficiency, bearing, physical fitness, and basic leadership traits that exemplify standards of the United States Marine Corps. He received a Certificate of Commendation from the commanding officer of Recruit Training Regiment recognizing his superior performance during recruit training and a plaque denoting he was the No. 1 Marine in his company.

After graduation he reported for reserve duty in Eugene.

Armstrong graduated from Pendleton High School in 2007 and is attending Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, where he is pursuing a career in criminal justice and outdoor recreation. Armstrong also has applied for Officer Candidate School in the Marine Corps.

Armstrong's parents are Julie Armstrong, Sean Moore, and Todd and April Armstrong, all of Pendleton.
