ATHENA - The Fabric Arts Faire will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 8 at Sacred Heart Hall on the corner of Fifth and College streets in Athena.

The event is sponsored by Athena Library Friends Association to benefit the new library's fireplace and furnishings fund.

Fabric and yarn will be sold by the pound at the fair. There also will be hand-made children's clothes, knit wear, well-dressed stuffed

animals sewing patterns and kits, as well as embroidery and crochet thread and a free thread-spinning demonstration.

Free workshops in knitting and quilting techniques also are planned and there will be children's craft activities. A soup and pie meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will cost $4. For more information, call 566-3090 or 566-2461.
