PENDLETON - The Vacation Bible School at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 800 S. E. Court Ave., in Pendleton got underway July 22. The program is overseen by various mothers of the parish and is based on the K4J (Kids for Jesus) program.

K4J is an educational program focusing on character formation and faith-based development of children aged 5-12. This year's program, "Win the World for Jesus," the point of which is to teach children that we are all called to help build the church and spread the good news about Jesus.

"The children learn through the use of fun games and activities, great music and animated characters," Don Vescio of St. Mary's said. "This program will enable the children to become a part of the global effort to win the world for Jesus.

A second session is planned to begin Aug. 22. For more information, call the church at 276-3615.
