MILTON-FREEWATER — A nonprofit group that focuses on protecting natural resources in the Blue Mountains and surrounding areas invites the public to its annual meeting.

The gathering of the Blue Mountain Alliance is Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Milton-Freewater Public Library, 8 S.W. Eighth Ave. Membership fees are used towards education and promoting the protection of natural resources.

The meeting includes a guest speaker who will talk about native avian species and their habitat. There also will be a brief analysis of the U.S Forest Plan and how it will impact area counties.
