HERMISTON — A new novel by New York Times bestselling author Kristina McMorris is the topic of the upcoming Bookminders, the Hermiston Public Library book club.

Participants will discuss “Sold on a Monday” Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 1:30 p.m. at The Pheasant Bar & Grill, 149 E. Main St., Hermiston. The club meeting is free and people may arrive early for a no-host lunch.

Inspired by an actual newspaper photograph advertising children for sale, the novel gives a glimpse into the desperation some people faced during the Great Depression. The book is said to be a powerful story of love and redemption.

The book club, which is free and open to everyone, meets the second Tuesday of each month. A limited number of copies of “Sold on a Monday” are available at the library. For more information, call 541-567-2882 or stop by the library at 235 E. Gladys Ave.
