PENDLETON — A week-long cello workshop will crescendo with a free concert.

The performance, which features four ensembles coached by Loree McKenna, is Friday at 7 p.m. at Pendleton Center for the Arts, 214 N. Main St.

The beginners cello group, which named themselves the Perfect Purple Penguins, includes Hayden Garton, Caleb Picken and Abigail Lozier. The intermediate cello group, named Turtle, is Emily Long, Sam Coleman and Kieric Speakman. An advanced cello quartet featuring Tasha Sitz, Christian DeBok, Logan Goad and Bella Hanson also will perform. The final group is the McKay String Quartet with Marquelle Barfus and Ethan Harrison on violin, Lilly Lozier on viola and Jenna Harrison on cello.
