KENNEWICK, Wash. — A free health fair, with a focus on diabetes education, is planned Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at  Columbia Basin College in the HUB buildings’ Gjerde Room. The first 50 people without medical insurance can receive a free glucose and hemoglobin A1C blood draw at the event.

More than a dozen vendors will be present to educate and provide resources about diabetes. In addition, Dr. Irene Feria will make a presentation, both in English and Spanish, “Best Controlled Practices.”

The event will include foot checks, portion size meal planning and glycemic index myths and facts. In addition, there will be two presentations that apply to children with diabetes.

A complete schedule is available at www.edithbishelcenter.org or by calling Cynthia McCready at 509-735-0699.
