PENDLETON — A handful of local and regional authors, and those who write about life in Western towns, will gather for a meet-and-greet and book-signing event in Pendleton.

Authors who have committed so far include Susan Badger Doyle (specializes in 19th century Western overland trails and U.S.-Indian relations on the Northern Plains), Bette Lynch Husted (an Oregon Arts Commission recipient and finalist for Oregon Book Award and WILLA Award, she writes a monthly column in the EO), Peg Willis (a musician and Northwest history writer, including about the Old Columbia River Highway) and Stu Campbell (cowboy humorist). Others may still be added to the event.

Meet the Author’s Day is Saturday, May 18 beginning at 10 a.m. at Heritage Station Museum, 108 S.W. Frazer Ave., Pendleton. The museum’s gift shop will have many of their books on hand.
