MILTON-FREEWATER —  It may like only yesterday when Hall and Oates were singing “Rich Girl,” Abba was telling us about the “Dancing Queen” and the Eagles couldn’t seem to escape “Hotel California.” But all that happened in 1977 and, believe it or not, that was 35 years ago.

You can travel back to the landmark year during the upcoming Oldies @ The Library Friday, Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Milton-Freewater Public Library, 8 S.W. Eighth Ave.

The year also featured Fleetwood Mac as the top group, Debby Boone had the biggest hit single and REO Speedwagon made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. More than 450 records made it into the Hot 100 chart in 1977 — the public can hear a few dozen of them during Oldies Night, along with tidbits of information about the songs, the artists, and the times.

There’s no admission fee. For more information, call 541-938-8246.
