Pendleton gets ready to light up holiday season

Randy and Sharon Bigot won the best classic residential display during the 2016 Pendleton Chamber of Commerce's Christmas lighting contest. Judging for this year's contest is Wednesday evening.

PENDLETON — The annual Christmas decorating contest returns to Pendleton.

The contest will be judged in three categories, including businesses, classic residential and contemporary residential. The latter includes homes that feature decorations, inflatables and/or projections that are coordinated with music.

A small group of judges will drive around Wednesday evening to view displays. First through third place will be recognized in each category. The prizes include $75 to $20 gift certificates, which have been sponsored by several local businesses.

Entries need to be in the Pendleton-area, but not necessarily in city limits, said Megan Lauer, chamber membership coordinator. Those who want to be considered for judging need to make sure the Pendleton Chamber of Commerce has your business or home address.

For more information, contact Lauer at 541-276-7411, or search Facebook.
