PENDLETON With a goal to increase volunteerism in the community, Pendleton Connect is launching a new online database. The project is designed to streamline volunteer recruitment efforts by providing a centralized system to connect people to projects
In conjunction with the Pioneer Playground Rebuild Committee, an open house is planned Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pendleton Center for the Arts, 214 N. Main St. Light refreshments will be served.
The public is invited to learn about Pendleton Connects program and register to help rebuild Pioneer Park Playground, which is scheduled for June 20-23. Those unable to attend the open house event or who would like to register on their own, go to www.pendletonconnect.org.
Also, committee members from the playground project will be on hand selling engraved pickets for the playground fence. They are $30 each or $100 for four. Pickets are also available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pendleton Parks and Recreation office at 865 Tutuilla Road. For more information, call 541-276-8100.
