PENDLETON — The public is invited to a barbecue at Willowbrook Terrace.

The free event is a way for the Pendleton assisted living facility to express its gratitude for support received during the recent flooding of McKay Creek. Following its evacuation plan was a smooth process, thanks to the coordinated effort of facility staff, the Pendleton Fire Department, local bus companies and other volunteers, who all assisted with the effort.

The community barbecue is Thursday, May 16 at 5 p.m. at 707 S.W. 37th St., Pendleton. People are encouraged to bring their kids and enjoy the meal. Activities director Riki McKague said those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by calling 541-276-3374.
