Celebrate Recovery begins tonight

PENDLETON - This is the opening night for Celebrate Recovery meetings at the Salvation Army, 150 S.E. Emigrant Ave. The series of meetings is based on the Eight Recovery Principles, and aims to free people from addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors.

The meetings begin with a barbecue at 6 p.m., which is $3 for adults. The whole group meets at 7 p.m., and children's groups also begin at that time. At 8 p.m. there are small group meetings, and the fellowship time is 9 p.m.

Flying Fortress heading to Pendleton airport

PENDLETON - The most fully restored B-17 Flying Fortress, Sentimental Journey, will drop in for a visit Aug. 3-5 at the Eastern Oregon Regional Airport. The public is welcome to tour the plane for a $5 donation. There are also flight opportunities at $425 per person.

Tours are scheduled for noon-6 p.m. on Aug. 3 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 4-5, weather permitting.
