The Agape House extends service to five-day week

HERMISTON - The Agape House will add another day of operation starting Feb. 5. Agape House, which dispenses food to low-income clients, cut back to a four-day business week last year during a budget crisis.

When an anonymous benefactor offered to match up to $15,000 in donations, local givers more than doubled the challenge amount. Donations totalled $32,500, not counting the original $15,000.

Director Dave Hughes called public response "wonderful."

New hours are 10-11:45 a.m. and 1-2:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.
