PENDLETON — Pianist Robyn Wells will perform a concert of classical music Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, 201 S.W. Dorion Ave.,?Pendleton.

The concert will feature works by Brahms, Fauré, Chopin, Saint-Saëns, Mendelssohn, and Scriabin. The program, “A Grand Romance,” is a celebration of this prolific and masterful era of music. The highlight of the program is the set of “24 Preludes, Op. 11” by Alexander Scriabin — a series of miniature snapshots of varied and extraordinary moods and techniques.

Wells has held positions as staff accompanist at Pacific Lutheran University and Miami University. She has participated and won prizes in several piano competitions, including being selected as a finalist in the 1998 Award-Debut Competition sponsored by the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle.
