PENDLETON - JoAnn Seifer of Echo welcomed the national president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States to Pendleton Thursday.

Seifer requested the national president come to Pendleton because the VFW auxiliary national president has made her official visit to the west side of the state for the past 21 years.

Seifer has been a VFW Auxiliary member for 32 years and has served as an officer at the state level for six.

In addition to a tour of area attractions, a Friday luncheon in Union with the VFW Auxiliary was on the agenda.

"The Union Auxiliary is small, but very active," Seifer said. "It is great for them to have someone come here for them."
