Each year in November the Pendleton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 922 and Auxiliary, with the Pendleton Elks Lodge 288, celebrate veterans with a party and bingo at the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center in Walla Walla.

This year, Mr. Keith May's first grade class at Sherwood Heights Elementary in Pendleton decorated bags for gifts. The veterans loved the bags, some more touched by the children's drawings than the gifts inside.

Fifteen men and women volunteered at the party.
