IRRIGON - Albert and LaVelle Partlow of Irrigon will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Stokes Landing in Irrigon.

Albert Partlow and LaVelle Markham were married July 3, 1953 at the Irrigon Assembly of God Church.

Albert worked as a crane operator at McNary Dam in Umatilla until his retirement in 1985. He is a member of the Irrigon Park board.

LaVelle was the Irrigon Postmaster until her retirement in 1982. She is chairwoman of the Irrigon Watermelon Festival and co-chair of Music in the Parks.

She volunteers at Stokes Landing Senior Center and volunteers playing music at Sun Terrace and Rose Arbor Assisted Living facilities.

The couple has a daughter and son-in-law Keith and Sherry Partlow Lancaster, and two grandsons, Devon and Brandon all of Smyrna, Tenn.
