PENDLETON - A CPR and first aid class to treat infants and children is being offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday at the American Red Cross Oregon Mountain River Chapter classroom, 611-B S.E. Emigrant Ave.

This class teaches emergency procedures to prepare people for breathing and cardiac emergencies for babies and children. The cost is $45. Preregistration is required. For information, call the Red Cross at 276-1211 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

In Hermiston, an evening introductory class by The American Red Cross for "New Disaster Volunteers" is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hermiston Plan Center, 1564 N. First St., Hermiston. For registration call 276-1211.

Also in Hermiston, the Oregon Parent Training and Information center will present a free workshop entitled "Understanding Special Education" from 6-8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at the Arc of Umatilla County Building, 215 W.
