Silvia Cristina Salazar and Roger Bryon Turner were married Aug. 12 in a double-ring ceremony in the Umatilla Room of at the Red Lion Hotel.
Maureen McCormmach performed the ceremony.
The bride, of Lima, Peru, is the daughter of Maria Teresa Angulo and Luis Salazar Souza of Iquitos, Peru. Turner, of Detroit, Mich., is the son of Eunice B. Kirkman of Stuart, Va., and of Stephen Tony Turner of Spencer, Va.
Turner's daughter, Mary Kay Turner of Detroit was maid of honor and his daughter, Kelly Turner, also of Detroit, was bridesmaid.
The bride wore a strapless pearl satin dress with gold embroidery. She carried a bouquet of roses and baby's breath.
She graduated in 1975 from Sta. Isabel High School in Lima and in 1979 from Bausate y Meza, Lima, in journalism. She works for "El Oriente" newspaper.
Turner graduated in 1967 from More Head High School in North Carolina, and in 1982 from Lake Erie College in Taines Ville, Ohio as an engineer. He works for New Focus Design in computer aided design and drafting.
Following a wedding trip to Cuzco, Peru, the couple will reside in Detroit.
