PENDLETON - JoAnne Ott, national president for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, will make an official visit on Thursday.

Ott of Ohio will come to Pendleton at the request of JoAnn Seifer of Echo, president of the Oregon VFW Auxiliary. National presidents are required to visit each state during their term of office, but this is the first time in a long while that the visit has come to the Eastern side of the state. Ott will visit Pendleton and Union only.

The Pendleton Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and the Main Street Cowboys will provide an official Pendleton welcome. A dinner for members and guests is planned for Thursday evening at the VFW Hall and a no-host dinner is planned Friday at the Red Lion.

Let'er Buck Auxiliary to Post 922 welcomed new members Jennifer Braliff, Patricia Blagg, Elizabeth Wilson and Carolyn Pearson to their organization at the last meeting. The auxiliary meets the second Monday of each month at the VFW Hall.

For more information about the auxiliary or Ott's visit, contact Maxine Tangney, 276-0624.
